Our Values

  • Collaboration and Community
  • Accountability.
  • Rigorous and engaging curriculum.
  • Equity.
  • Student-centered learning.

Our vision

All students located on Maryland’s Eastern Shore will have equitable access to a high-quality public education without many of the restraints of in-person schooling, enabling students to learn in the environment that is best for them while still receiving engaging, interactive, and rigorous learning opportunities.

our mission

The ESMEC BVP provides students located on Maryland’s Eastern Shore with equitable access to a high-quality public education while meeting the diverse needs of students.  By removing many restraints of brick-and-mortar schooling, the Blended Virtual Program allows students to learn in the environment that is best for them without the costs associated with private schooling and with the support of Maryland certified teachers that homeschooling does not provide. This program will be open to students in grades 6 - 12 and will ensure that all county and state requirements to receive a Maryland diploma are met.

What is ESMEC?

The Eastern Shore of Maryland Educational Consortium (ESMEC) was established primarily to advise member school systems about projects, programs, or services that would enable all Eastern Shore students to develop socially, culturally, economically, and, most importantly, educationally.  If regional responses are required, ESMEC works with the superintendents to develop appropriate replies and/or positions.
